Did I get a whopper of surprises the other day? My family threw me a surprise birthday party. Here's the funny part: 1. I am usually the one who takes every opportunity to celebrate. 2. I ask questions for my full-time work and I never questioned any of their plans. 3. I simply requested to dine at a fabulous local Brazilian restaurant even though it was a milestone birthday. I got way more than I imagined. In addition to walking into a sea of faces, a chorus of "S-U-R-P-R-I-S-E", and lights from cameras flashing, I never suspected a conversation about fondant was leading up to my surprise birthday cake. Over the weekend, I noshed on two Cake Boss cakes (we live in suburban Philadelphia and my sister drove to northern New Jersey to pick up the cakes, chocolate and plain cannolies, and cookies). And they were way more than I expected. I consider myself a dessert connoisseur. Not because I am a Chocolatier with DOVE Chocolate Discoveries. It is because I love, love, love dessert. Everyone toasted me, including my young son, who held a champagne flute filled with sparkling grape juice. Even the birthday cards were hilarious. In fact, I allowed my oldest brother to use my childhood nickname. I could not have asked for anything more. I got the suprise of my life! Savor life's best, Aimee |
